Alex is co-founder of Purpose Accounting and a strategic finance leader, with over 20 years’ experience helping non-profits connect their culture, strategy and finances to drive impact.
Alex is a CPA-qualified finance leader, with over 20 years’ experience in the non-profit sector - bringing both strategic insight and practical know-how. He has supported a diverse range of organisations, including advocacy peaks, community services, education, Aboriginal services, health, domestic violence, the arts, housing, and disability.
With a strong personal connection to the sector, and many years working with Boards and senior stakeholders, Alex is proficient in communicating complex financial messages to a diverse audience.
After managing an accounting firm dedicated to NFPs, where he served as CFO/Financial Controller for 15 organisations, Alex co-founded Purpose Accounting in 2014. His goals:- to empower NFP clients to build their own capacity. To help for-purpose organisations connect their culture, strategy and finances so they can deliver greater impact.
Today, Alex continues to support clients as an outsourced CFO, while also shaping Purpose’s client services and advisory work. Alongside his co-Directors, he leads a team of talented practitioners to empower their own clients, to make meaningful decisions that increase social impact.
