Maki is a CA-qualified finance leader, who empowers purpose-led organisations through financial expertise and a commitment to social equity.
Maki is a values-driven Finance leader, who has established her career on a diverse base of experience.
Driven by a desire to reduce the wealth gap and increase social equality, Maki made the move to the start-up space in Australia, supporting local startups including young commercial organisations coming out of UNSW’s innovation hub.
In coming to Purpose, Maki has continued along that values pathway to now work with organisations dedicated to social outcomes. She is committed to leading and informing NFPs, to help them achieve their strategic financial outcomes.
Previously, Maki worked with large, listed companies in a fast-paced accounting practice environment in Japan. She has also lectured in accounting at the University of Technology Sydney.
Maki serves as Treasurer on the Board of a women’s health NFP on a volunteer basis. She is also a Xero advisor.
